I am SO behind on my blogging, I think Taylor has asked me everyday this week if I have posted something. Well, besides catching up on everything around the house after a 3 week vacation, taking care of a teething 6 month old (who is, by the way, being very entertained by plastic cups on the floor right now) lots of photography/editing to do and having a major cold/sinus infection that is never going to end, I am finally getting around to posting about our adventures! So- this first post is really long and I didn't take a ton of pictures. I mentioned earlier that Taylor got me Celine Dion tickets for my birthday. Since we go down to Lake Powell every year with my family we decided to go to Las Vegas on the way there so we wouldn't have to make two trips down. We left Thursday for Alpine and picked up my sister Lizzy and her friend Mary. We got there the same time my sister Amy and her family who live in New Jersey did. It was so fun to see them and they met Alexander for the first time. He got so much attention with all of his cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents while we were gone, he is not very satisfied with me these days. Anyways, we headed down to St. George, stopped by to say hi to my grandparents and stayed with Taylors wonderful Aunt Jan and Uncle Gordon. We had a blast watching the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics and catching up with them. I guess I also should mention that Alexander was getting his first tooth and was totally miserable. The poor little guy is usually such a good baby, but I think it just made it worse because we were traveling and it was freaking hot in Southern Utah! We left St. George Saturday morning and headed to Las Vegas! We had a few hours before we could check into our hotel (Treasure Island) so Taylor took Liz and Mary on the Big Shot at the Stratosphere. After that things are pretty much a blur. We checked in to our hotel...I changed a blowout in a casino bathroom sitting on the toilet with a poopy baby on my lap (can't believe they didn't have a changing table, ha ha?), walked the strip, window shopped, watched the Belagio Fountains, bought cheap sunglasses and went to a sweet buffet that had cotton candy in the dessert section.
(We were really excited about the cotton candy)
Dessert plate #1 of many
The boss toughing it out. He was such a trooper.
Then before we knew it it was time to fulfill my dreams (Cheesy right?). So Taylor, Liz and I left Mary with Alexander and took a taxi to Caesars Palace. Words cannot describe her performance, except that she was beautiful, classy, romantic, and so amazing. I enjoyed every second of it. The 90 min. concert was so worth the 10 hour drive. She of course sang all of her classic songs, and she even covered Adelle's 'Rolling in the Deep.' Yeah my husband is amazing, I know.
After, we grabbed some food and went back to the hotel to catch up on the olympics. The next morning we went to church with my long lost friend Janet who lives in Vegas. It was so fun to see her and it made me realize how much I miss her. Maybe someday we will live closer! After church we headed to Page, AZ to meet the fam for LP!
OMG cotton candy! yeah.. I guess Celine Dion in Las Vegas is cool, too. lol.
