Lunch with Friends and Rachel's Shower

So the last few weeks have been insane and insanely fun. We have 'lived' in our new apartment for 1 month, but only been here for 2 weeks. The weekend before we headed off for our adventures I had lunch with some friends Kaylee and Heather. My good ole' mission comps. It was fun to catch up and visit.

We headed down to Utah the Thursday before Thanksgiving. We put on a little baby shower for my BFF Rach, who wasn't due for 7 more weeks, but ended up having her baby last Sunday! It was fun to be with my friends- we hardly get to see each other. Here is Lindsay with her cute little girl Halle.

Of course we had to take a timer pic...!

Rach with her cute belly.

I was so lucky to be able to go and visit her in the hospital after her little man came by surprise 6 weeks early. I'm so glad everything went ok and can't wait to see the little guy again. I totally forgot to take pictures of him at the hospitals. I have this nervous thing about using a flash around newborns... Anyways, congrats Rach and Tan!

Alexander is 9 months old!

Our little guy is 9 months this week. Time has flown by and we are loving life with Alexander. He is all over the place. He loves to play hide and seek and crawls so fast! He pulls himself up everywhere, especially in his crib when he is supposed to be sleeping! He pretends sleeps when he sees us coming in sometimes, it is hilarious. He also pretends coughing. He loves to pull my hair. He loves taking walks, he sits all the way to the front of the stroller and watches everything. He dances when Taylor turns on the radio or sings. He can mimic notes that I sing. He loves dogs! Our neighbor has a dog and Alexander goes crazy when he sees him. He hates bibs and pulls them off every time. He is getting two more teeth on top, so he slobbers everywhere, he always has a slobber ring on his shirt. He never holds still, but has started cuddling with mommy! He laughs so hard when Taylor whistles. He loves playing patty cake and this little piggy. He is taking 2 naps and sleeps through the night (most nights). He is now taking a bottle and seems much happier. He still loves gogurts- they are his favorite treat. He weighs 22 lbs and the doctor says he is looking great. We just love our little guy and he makes us so happy.

Halloween!

We finally got into our new apartment. It has been a crazy time, but I am so grateful that we were able to stay with Taylors parents- I don't know what we would have done without them! We moved in last friday/saturday thanks to Taylors Dad and his friend Trent. I have definitely taken my time unpacking, because I feel like I always rush to put things away, just for the sake of having things out of the box then, a few weeks later I organize it the way I want it. So this time, I am trying to put it where I really want it! I really like our apartment and I am excited to make it seem more like home. We are in the same ward that we have been in this summer.

We went to our ward trunk or treat on Tuesday and took Taylor's cousins Hannah and Hunter with us. Hunter was Batman and Hannah was Robin. They are so awesome. Taylor and I dressed up as redneck coon hunters, with Alexander a . s the little raccoon. I am so mad because we didn't get a picture. Taylor had a sweet mullet! One of our friends in the ward got one, so I will have to snag it from her. On wednesday I took Alexander to Taylor's parents ward trunk or treat while Taylor was at work. Then we went over and visited both set of Grandparents. It was a fun Halloween, even though I bought a bunch of candy and was never home to give any out. I guess we'll just have to eat it..

I took these pictures of Alexander for Halloween. (Sorry for the watermark)

I love this cute little bug. He is getting so big and turns 9 months this week. More on that one later! Happy November!

Alexander 8 months

This is an excerpt from my journal...

October 9.2012

I am writing as the baby 'army crawls' around the floor. He hasn't quite got the crawling on his knees thing down yet. But he is so close. he is so fun and amazing to watch him observe everything around him. He catches on to things os fast. He uses his index fingers to feel and scratch everything. I think he favors his left hand- so it will be interested to see what happens there. I gave him a buzz cut (and Taylor too) the other night. They are little twinners. He looks so much older now. I was so sad to cut off his beautiful golden hair. He is getting so big. He is such a good eater. He loves just about everything; green beans, black beans, avacado, peaches, pears, bananas, yogurt, jam. He loves real food like spaghetti and lasagna too. His favorite toys are a mirror book that he can see himself in and a touch and feel tractor book. He loves playing with plastic spoons and water-bottles. We went for a walk yesterday with Rigley (Taylor's dog). He kept watching him and would scream when he couldn't see him. Taylor took us on a 4-wheeler ride the other day too and he loved that as well. He is scared of the cows though. He gets a very worried look on his face and starts crying when he sees them, or hears them moo. He absolutely adores Taylor's parents. He especially love his Grandpa Wray. When Vince comes home from school, he takes the baby out to do chores like feed the cows and water. Alexander loves it and gets so excited when he comes home. When he wakes up in the morning I take him upstairs, by that time everyone is at work. He just looks and looks and sqeals. He will scoot over to Grandma's room and squeal. His face is so animated.

*update* This week his top teeth started coming in. One has broken through so far. To soothe him, we have been giving him frozen gogurts and he goes crazy! He has also started to fake cough and fake yawn to get attention. He still can't crawl 'normally' but gets around really fast. He has started scooting on his bum, its a half crawl, half scoot thing. He has also started to wave. At first he only would wave to Grandma Jill. Then he waved to my Grandma Alexander. Now wave's to everyone.

I love my little Al. He brings me so much happiness and constantly teaches me.
